Further to the direction issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Health, the Ministry for Education and Employment is ensuring that the precautions indicated by the health authority are adopted in the offices and workplaces that fall under the Ministry.
All offices within the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College (MAVC) are implementing several measures so as to welcome back all non-teaching staff in a safe working environment.
Each school invested in the supply of hand sanitising units and antibacterial cleaning materials for all common areas and common surfaces. An intensive exercise was carried out to ensure that there are at least four-square metres per staff member within the offices. Signs and posters are fixed around the workplace to remind workers and others of the risks of COVID-19 and the measures necessary to stop its spread. Infrared Thermometers, masks and visors are being provided to protect staff and visitors from viral infection, and absorbent furniture and all fabrics removed.
Shared spaces such as waiting areas and meeting rooms are redesigned to allow for appropriate distancing measures to be carried out, including floor markers and signage to help guide and remind staff to maintain safe distances between themselves.
Head of College Network Victor Galea thanked the College cleaners and all those who actively helped out in carrying out these measures.
