A Philanthropic Event organised by the Schools of Art, Music and Dance & Drama that form part of the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College as well as a donation to Foodbank Malta..

These schools within the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College (MAVC) , have adapted a performative and philantropic programme appropriate for these times of COVID 19 pandemic. The peak of the activity, that was held over a week, reached on Friday 18th December 2020. During this week the students from the Malta School of Art prepared some artistic Christmas Decorations to be put on a Christmas Tree that was raised at the entrance of the Colleges’s Main Entrance. Dancers from the Malta School of Dance & Drama were likewise prepared together with a number of students-musicians and bands from The School of Music, Malta who together performed during a performative event in the grounds at the College’s complex in Hamrun.

At the end of this symbolic event, the Head of the College Network Mr Victor Galea presented a donation of €467 in food items to The Foodbank Malta. This year on the initiative of all the workers at the College instead of the usual exchanging of gifts, the Head of Schools, the teachers and all workers were urged to donate a free contribution towards Foodbank Malta. The College contacted Tutto Marketing Company. Mrs Carmen Micallef kindly offered to generously increase the supply of food items, over the amount collected by the College, in loving memory of her late beloved husband Mr Saviour Micallef who suddenly passed away to eternal life last year.

Mrs Irene Schembri represented The Foodbank Malta, and she heartily thanked the College for this initiative.
