Inauguration of restoration works with an investment €5 Million at The Malta school of Arts

On Wednesday 21st July 2021, the Prime Minister of Malta Robert Abela, together with the Minister of Education Justyne Caruana, inaugurated the restoration programme at The Malta School of Arts Valletta, a school that forms part of the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College, with an investment of €5 million given by the Foundation for Tomorrow Schools.

A project which as expressed by the same Prime Minister engages the cultural patrimony with the future of the art sector.
“A five million investment for the restoration of this building in Valletta so as to cater for the talent of hundreds of persons who choose the School of Art to help them develop their artistic skills. Our aspiration is that whoever attends this school may dream that any individual who enters this school may reach his or her individual level, individuals who by their creativity contribute towards the development of our identity as Maltese.”

Dr Abela emphasised on the government’s commitment towards the artistic sector and said that these projects aim towards developing a clear vision so as to help artists expose and venture in their artistic works.
“I have no doubt that this centre will offer the about 500 artists who every year follow courses in it a better environment that motivates even better the creative sense and help develop innovative ideas. This school complements the excellent work that takes place in various other institutions such as MCAST and the University of Malta, amongst others.”
In this context the Prime Minister mentioned the help which the government is offering artists in our country in order to continue flourishing in their talent and offer their best potential.

The Minister of Education Justyne Caruana said that the government’s investment spread out on various levels and different sectors, altogether lead to investing in our children. “Today I feel satisfied, because the inauguration of this school, is also a celebration of our students’ talents”, the Minister stated.
