Godfrey Mifsud is the Wind Band director for Blat – The Island Fortress opera-film!

WIND BAND DIRECTOR

As Wind Band director, Godfrey Mifsud rehearsed and prepared the students involved in this ensemble for the audio and visual recordings and also did the studio recordings of the clarinet parts.
Godfrey Mifsud is considered to be one of Malta’s most refined solo and chamber musicians. He started his musical studies in Malta at an early age under Ronnie Debattista and furthered his clarinet studies in UK with British clarinet virtuoso David Campbell while participating in master classes with various international soloists.

Godfrey graduated in Music Education from the University of Malta and Master of Music from Christchurch University in Canterbury (UK), majoring in clarinet performance under the mentorship of David Campbell. Being a passionate chamber musician and fluent on most instruments of the clarinet family, Godfrey performs regularly in orchestral and chamber setups and is frequently invited to perform as guest clarinet with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

Being a keen educator, Godfrey also enjoys working with young talented and motivated musicians, helping them to further improve their musical skills and career. He holds the post of clarinet tutor and wind ensemble director at the MAVC Malta School of Music and is a visiting lecturer in Performance Studies at the University of Malta.
