About the College for the Arts

The Malta School of Art in Valletta, the Malta School of Drama and Dance in Blata l-Bajda, the Malta School of Music in Hamrun and the Gozo Visual and Performing Arts Schools in Xewkija became the network of specialized schools which formed part of the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College (MAVC) on the 19th November 2018.




Upon being invited on NetTV during the daily programme “Gimgha b’Gimgha“, the Head of College Network explained briefly, through some visuals, the teaching and learning taking place in these specialised schools. Mr Galea referred to past and present developments taking place within the educational sector for the Visual & Performing Arts referring also to the MVPA (secondary) school.


MAVC Malta School of Art, established since 1923

MAVC Malta School of Music (ex-Johann Strauss), established since 1974

MAVC Malta School of Drama & Dance, dates back to the 70’s

MAVC Gozo Visual & Performing Arts School, dates back to the early 90’s.
