Maltese Students to Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the European Parliament

As part of the European youth exchange project, the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College has been invited to join 26 groups of young people from the 26 EU countries. The Maltese group is being invited to Alsace (France) in May 2023 for this 2 year artistic exchange project. Students from the Malta School of Art, Malta School of Drama and Dance and students from the Gozo VPA School will be participating.

The Collectivité européenne d’Alsace is  a French territorial administration. Together with several French public partners, it is carrying out this exchange project for young Europeans to celebrate the Parliament’s anniversary. The European Parliament, based in Strasbourg, France, is celebrating its 70^th anniversary this year. As part of the preparations for this exchange visit consist in learning the European Anthem (‘Hymne á la joie’ de la symphonie by Beethoven) and other 2 musical pieces.

The Maltese group of students started their rehearsals with choir master Geoffrey Thomas. The group shall be joining other 700 European young people and perform in Strasbourg on the 29^th and 30^th of May.
