The Malta School of Music has just published its Prospectus for the 2023-2024 scholastic year, and announced that applications for new students will be open between the 22nd and 31st of May.
The School of Music currently caters for 800 students ranging from beginners to higher diploma level. With a strong team of 80 specialised music teachers, the school offers an unrivalled opportunity for any student at any level who would like to delve into the world of music. The school offers accredited courses from MQF Level 1 to MQF Level 5, as well as an opportunity to join the school in a more leisurely manner for those who wish to focus on the enjoyment that music gives.
Each year, the school opens its doors to around 200 new students who are selected through an audition process that identifies musical skills and aptitude, allowing students to choose their best pathway. Young beginners are invited to apply for the Music Makers Course, catering for 6 to 8 year old students, who will be guided in choosing the right instrument for them and preparing them for entry to the Regular Music Course, which sees them developing musical skills up to MQF Level 4 in both music theory and practice.
This year, the school is offering the option for external students to join the school for non-formal courses by inviting music students to audition for one of the various music groups such as chamber ensembles, string orchestra, wind band, jazz ensemble, children’s choir or full orchestra. The School has also opened new calls for its Opera Studio.
