Student-performers from Malta School of Music joins Valletta Cultural Agency and Tektek Nota

The Valletta Cultural Agency and the NGO Tektek Nota, organised TEKTIKA KAPITALI which is a music platform that was created to gave a holistic experience of music – movement – culture – heritage and spectatorship of which the audience was an important part of the experience.  It created a framework consisting of motion, engagement with the audience and interaction with the spectators.  It created a holistic atmosphere of music, tradition, culture, history, with the city itself and the passers-by.  Three performances were staged in three prominent locations of Valletta; Triton Square, Great Siege Square and Upper Barrakka Gardens. Students from the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College Malta School of Music were part of the performers.



The participants, being new emerging musicians, benefited through workshops and mentoring/rehearsal sessions delivered by professionals on various aspects of discipline in music, art and culture. It enhanced their understanding of Valletta’s culture, its musicians and composers.  They also participated in a Treasure Hunt which served not only to learn about more about Valletta but also as team-building activity. The participants, through this project, developed further their musicianship and empowerment through working together.
