The results of the first Art Competition organized by ‘Malta Together’ are out. Alexander Buhagiar Said, 14 years old, won the first prize in the category: ‘Young Adolescent’ for his sculpture: ‘in Shock’.
Alexander is a student at the MAVC- Malta School of Art and attends our level 3 – Foundation Course in Visual Art.
This sculpture created by ready-made materials was produced by Alexander at home, during the ongoing online tuition offered by the school, in this period. The student’s work is a response to a task solicited by his tutor, Ms Wioletta Kulewska.
Malta Together is a community platform that was created to help people in Malta live their lives better during the COVID-19 pandemic, by providing access to support, activities, entertainment, and useful services for individuals, families and businesses.
“On behalf of the school, I am very proud of Alexander’s achievement,” said Umberto Buttigieg, Centre Administrator of the MAVC – Malta school of Art “and the excellent work being done by all our tutors and staff members at this challenging time. “
