Ten drawings by the late Joe Chetcuti (1960–2019), ex Art Teacher at The Malta School of Arts were presented by his widow and her family to the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College Malta School of Arts. Mr Joe Chetcuti was a neknowned artist who started his art studies at the Malta School of Arts between 1978–1983. He continued his studies in Florence where he studied sculpture and design at the Accademia de Belle Arte in Florence. He was part of the painting of the famous fresco of The Last Supper for the Basilica di San Antonio in Padova. He ended up being a famous modellor and caster and started working in a modest family garage in Pembroke. Later he moved to a Foundary in the Luqa Industrial Estate, and later in a more spacious Foundary which he constructed near the same site. In 2011 he became a modelling and casting teacher at The Malta School of Art and resigned in 2016 due to health issues.

The presentation was held at the Chetcuti Foundary in Luqa by Mr Joe Chetcuti’s son Mr Christopher Chetcuti, who presented the valuable donation consisting of ten drawings from a collection of sketches that Mr Chetcuti created between the years 2000 and 2017, during life figure drawings at the Foundary. It also consisted of three plaster cast portraits of the School of Art resident model and past students. These portraits were modelled by Mr Chetcuti when he was a teacher at The Malta School of Art during demonstrations to teach students the modelling techniques.

Mr Chetcuti showed the delegation from the MAVC Malta School of Art around the workshop in which his father performed most of his art pieces.
Present during this presentation were Mr Victor Galea, Head of College Network, Mr Umberto Buttigieg Head of The Malta School of Arts, and Mr Emanuel and Helga Borg who are working on the archives at the School of Art.

Victor Galea, Head of College Network thanked them for their generous donation, which will be always cherished at the Malta School of Arts at Valletta and recalled the contribution that Mr Chetcuti gave as a teacher at same institution.
