The MAVC Malta School of Music Clarinet Ensemble has been active for the past fifteen years and whilst the organic changes from year to year, teachers within the department (Noel Curmi, Hertian Gauci, Godfrey Mifsud) keep working hard to keep a high group standard, whilst helping each student to achieve their best personal qualities.
This group apart from rehearsing on a weekly basis, presents concerts thoughout the year (prior Covid-19) and always envisages to promote new and contemporary repertoire composed for the medium. These past months, due to the current situation, working conditions had to change and thus even ‘normal’ projects had to take different routes in terms of production and execution.
“This recording of Michele Managani’s – Fantango was produced through the input of all the members of the ensemble – students and teachers. For most of our students, this was a first time experience to play and record in such a production – a challenge to which they rose up with flying colours” told Mr Godfrey Mifsud clarinet performance teacher at the Malta School of Music.
“This will serve as an experience for further future projects they will surely be involved in. The various departments present at the Malta School of Music work tirelessly to give each student an all-round experience in the musical field, as to promote the best potential of each person. Looking forward to better musical days!” concluded Ms Maria Blanco, the School Administrator.
