MAVC – Malta School of Art doubles the accredited classes for the scholastic year 2022-2023

A professional development session took place at the MAVC, Malta School of Art on the 29th and the 30th September.


On the first day, the Head of College Network, Mr. Victor Galea, greeted the educators and introduced Mr. Emile Vassallo, the College’s Director General, Directorate for Education Services, who gave a warm introductory speech for the start of the scholastic year.

A new publication ‘A College for the Arts’, featuring the journey of the four schools within Mikiel Anton Vassalli College, was distributed to all present.


The professional development session focused on the changes to the academic structure of the school during the last few years, particularly the structure of the accredited courses, the internal quality assurance document and the importance of educator-led teams.




The initial session was introduced by Mr. Victor Galea and was immediately followed by Ms. Mariangela Schembri Meli, Education Officer, who gave an illustrated talk about the internal quality assurance document approved by the Malta Authority for Further and Higher Education (MFHEA).


The PD continued with another presentation, this time concentrating on the accredited study programme at the school, which was given by Mr. Umberto Buttigieg, Centre Administrator.




On the second day the teachers discussed their curriculum and lessons in groups which was concluded by sharing of thoughts and ideas.
