Meet the Opera-Film Mezzo Soprano

Now up for introduction is the acclaimed mezzo soprano of Blat – The Island Fortress Opera-Film!

MEZZO SOPRANO

Clare Ghigo is a mezzo soprano with a Master’s Degree in Opera Performance at RWCMD (Cardiff). Ghigo’s operatic roles include Cherubino in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, Annio in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito and Hansel in Humperdinck‘s Hansel and Gretel. More recent performances include the role of Anna Rosa in Carlo Diacono’ L Alpino, the role of Saja in a world premier opera Ahna Refugjati and the role of Nunzjata in Swar – Behind the Fortifications, the first opera production of the platform Belt il-Bniedem – City of Humanity.

Ghigo has participated in various operatic competitions; she won the Malta International Singing Competition, was a semi-finalist of the Alfredo Kraus Vocal Competition, a finalist in the Hans Gabor Belvedere competition, and a semi-finalist in the London Handel Competition 2016.
