STUDENT JAZZ TRIO
Samuel Attard began playing drums and percussion from a very young age with the local traditional village banda. In his teenage and young adult years he took part in several orchestras and youth bands of several genres. Later he started learning classical piano followed by contemporary keyboard and percussion playing. He is currently studying Contemporary Music Knowledge & Understanding and Contemporary Percussion at the MAVC Malta School of Music.
Originally from West Wales, Diccon Cooper began playing double bass aged 15 and soon after discovered jazz. After playing in local bands and student groups while studying for a history degree, he went on to study for a Master’s degree in jazz at Trinity College of Music in London. He has played in diverse styles from opera and musicals to free jazz, and has composed music for plays, contemporary dance and jazz ensembles. Diccon now lives in Qrendi and enjoys playing with the many fantastic musicians in Malta. He is currently studying bass with Gjorgji Cincievski at the MAVC Malta School of Music.
Malcolm Abdilla is a 23-year-old musician from Gudja. He has been playing piano for the past 17 years and possesses a Grade 8 in classical piano. He is currently studying CMKU and jazz improvisation for piano at the MAVC Malta School of Music.
