MQF Level 3 Certificate in Practical Multi-Disciplinary Studies in the Visual and Performing Arts

Mikiel Anton Vassalli College which is licenced as a Further and Higher Education Institution by The Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), is now offering a new course in “Practical Multi-Disciplinary Studies in the Visual and Performing Arts”. Successful candidates will acquire an MQF Level 3 (60 ECTS).

The course which is normally offered after school hours; aims to instill creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, self-development, cultural awareness, and appreciation of the visual and performing arts.

Students interested in taking part or organising multi-disciplinary productions such as musicals, operas, ballet, plays and film, are encouraged to take this course.

The course goes into depth in the most important aspects of these type of productions by covering topics such as the basic concepts of music, dance, drama and visual art, the synergies and aesthetics of multi-disciplinary productions, intra and inter-personal skills needed in the multidisciplinary arts amongst other. The course also entails the participation in a commercial multi-disciplinary production. The approach to teaching emphasises a practicality with hands on sessions.

This course will give learners a sound groundwork for them to progress further in related studies and possible career/s in: Acting; Music Instrument/Performance, Directing; Stage Management; Scriptwriting; Screenwriting; Costume Design & Manufacture; Make-up Artist; Production; Theatre Management; Production Management; Performing in multi-disciplinary productions; Curatorship; Stage direction; Site management; Set operation; Property master; Wardrobe management; Light design; Set design; Artistic coordination.
