Educators at the MAVC Malta School of Art:
I am Kamy Aquilina, a Fine-Artist and a B.A Hons Fine Arts Graduate. I am also a part-time educator at the Malta School of Art. Teaching art and sharing my experiences with my students is my passion. I love encouraging my students to build self-confidence and experiment with different methods and ideas in the process of creating and understanding art with different creative methods.
My name is Christian Attard. The Malta School of Art is solidly attached to my history. My involvement with the School goes back a long way; years ago as a student, and for the last twenty years as a lecturer. It is a School to which I gave a lot but which gave me so much more in return. The School is presently in the process of an interesting transition. My hope for the School is that it becomes more receptive and open to new ideas while still nourishing its strong academic roots. A process of change and continuity that needs to be encouraged and sustained.
My name is Joyce Camilleri and I am a full-time educator at the Malta School of Art , holding a master’s degree as artist teacher since 2017. During the past 20 years I participated in various studio practice workshops locally and abroad and coordinated three Erasmus+ funded projects, thus I feel I have the necessary skills and experience to contribute to the school council, both as a practicing artist and as an art educator.
Adult Students (over the age of 16) attending the MAVC Malta School of Art:
My name is Vincent Cassar. And I am currently in the final year of the Advanced Course in Visual Arts at the Malta School of Art. I have attended the school for more than 5 years and was also a member of the previous School Council. I believe that there is always something new to learn in life and there is always room for improvement. With these two principles in mind I feel I can contribute to this school to promote artistic skills in the Maltese population. I try to create daily and assist where I can. You can help me to help make this school better.
I am Stephania Micallef and I am currently following the course in Printmaking Techniques at the Malta School of Art. I am a visual artist who loves to experiment with printmaking techniques and minimal aesthetics. I am also fascinated by the human figure and have studies the forms of living moving structures. I have furthered my artistic and design studies at the University of Malta and graduated in 2019. being part of the council at School of art will enable me to be part of decisions in the organisation of local art activities.
Parents/Guardians of students (under the age of 16) attending the MAVC Malta School of Art:
My name is Evangeline Azzopardi and I am 44 years old. I am married and have three children. My eldest, Gabriel, has been attending MAVC for the past two years. I am a teacher at a secondary school and I love reading. I have always been fascinated by art and artists and hope to have the opportunity to try my hand at art in the future.
I am Ann Marie Fenech. My son attends the MAVC Malta School of Art and I take an active interest in his wellbeing and his peers. I am a youth worker by profession and a strong believer in extracurricular activities that delve away from the mainstream education. If COVID has taken away much it has given us the opportunity and ample time to use different media to express our artistic side. I might not be a Picasso or Monet yet I love creating crafts and painting. It is my go to place when I’m stressed or tired.
