Online-talk: “The Maltese Carnival as an Artistic Expression in Maltese Culture”

The Mikiel Anton Vassalli College – Malta School of Art proudly presents an online-talk by Sephora Borg entitled ‘The Maltese Carnival as an Artistic Expression in Maltese Culture‘, on the 25th of February at 6.00pm.



Ms Borg is an alumni of the School of Art and is currently an Art Educator  at the school. Her interest in the Carnival stems from her family and harks back to her childhood but has been cultivated through the years as she takes on active roles as part of the yearly carnival programme.

The talk will focus on the research that Ms Borg has conducted over the past years exploring how important 20th century Maltese artists such Antoine Camilleri, Gabriel Caruana, George Fenech, Emvin Cremona, Frank Portelli and others were involved and found an artistic and creative outlet in the production of Carnival floats and costumes for the Maltese Carnival.
