The Mikiel Anton Vassalli College – Malta School of Art happily participated in Allura’s ‘The Trail – Valletta’ project on the 30th and 31st October. During this weekend event, the school hosted a collection of works by artist Dr Christine Porter Lofaro. The exhibition was then extended till 17th October.
‘The Trail’ consisted of pop-up open art studios, hosted by different contemporary painters, at different cultural venues in Valletta. During the weekend event, the artist gave the visitors a unique opportunity by actually working on her paintings thus giving one a chance to chat with the artist whilst at work.
Dr Porter Lofaro is an academic at the University Of Malta and started her art practice within the Malta School of Art at a young age. Her forte lies in Realism and in 2019 she was a prize winner for the Negroni 100 Art Competition.
