Following the online training provided to a number of MAVC – Malta School of Art staff members and educators by CREA (Community of Research on Excellence for All) on the theoretical framework and scientific base of the Successful Educational Actions, in particular the Dialogic Art Gatherings, on Monday 19th April 2021, the participants had the opportunity to learn from the experiences of I.E.S Alfonso II School in Oviedo – Spain, in implementing such initiatives with their learners.
Ms Pilar Fernandez, English Literature tutor at I.E.S Alfonso II School in Oviedo presented the experience of the school in implementing Dialogic Literary Gathering, explaining the method used to prepare for and facilitate such initiatives. She also highlighted the benefits of such initiatives in motivating all learners to participate more during classes, to think critically, to express their feelings and thoughts and to fostering dialogue and better collaboration between all members of the school.
The session was also attended by several I.E.S Alfonso II School students, parents/guardians and teachers who shared their experience and the benefits of such Dialogic Gatherings. Their experience was of great benefit and encouragement to the staff and tutors at the Malta School of Art who are in the process of learning more and initating the implementation of the Successful Educational Actions as an integral part of the learning experience during Art classes.
