As part of the upcoming live production L-AĦĦAR BASTIMENT – Stories from the Grand Harbour, Mikiel Anton Vassalli College (MAVC) is organising a series of masterclasses that form an integral component of the MQF Level 3 Certificate (24 ECTS) in ‘Placement in a Commercial Multi-disciplinary Production’.
These sessions are designed to offer learners valuable insight and hands-on experience in the key artistic and technical areas that shape a live, multi-disciplinary production. Led by experienced practitioners involved in L-AĦĦAR BASTIMENT, the masterclasses cover disciplines such as directing, scriptwriting, composition, lighting design, stage management, costume, make-up and movement, among others.
The initiative is an essential part of the academic and creative development of learners attending MAVC Schools who have shown interest in taking part in specific roles within this production. By combining structured learning with real production practice, the programme bridges education and the professional stage – allowing learners to engage directly with the creative processes behind L-AĦĦAR BASTIMENT and to develop skills that are both artistic and industry-relevant.
Through this series, MAVC continues to strengthen its commitment to experiential learning, ensuring that students do not only study performance, but actively participate in the making of theatre at a professional level.
The live performance will take place on Saturday 9th May 2026 at St. Agatha Auditorium, Rabat.
