From Classroom to Creative Industry: Faye Galea’s MAVC Journey

Mikiel Anton Vassalli College (MAVC) proudly celebrates the inspiring journey of Faye Galea, a student who successfully completed the MQF Level 3 Certificate in the Visual and Performing Arts, offered by the Multidisciplinary Arts Department within the College.

Course Co-ordinator Dr Reuben Pace remarked:
“From the very beginning, Faye distinguished herself as a highly motivated learner with a clear passion for film and media. Her dedication and commitment quickly translated into professional opportunities.”

The two-year part-time course is a comprehensive 60 ECTS accredited programme designed to develop practical and creative competences across the arts. Learners follow six modules covering concepts of music, dance, drama and visual art; the synergies between artistic disciplines; direction and production teams; interpersonal skills in collaborative artistic environments; the history of multidisciplinary productions; and a substantial placement in a commercial production environment.

The programme combines workshops, lectures and rehearsals with hands-on production experience, amounting to approximately 1500 hours of learning, including mentoring and practical participation in live productions.

Reflecting on her experience, Faye explains:

“After completing this two-year course, I was approached by several agencies to appear in advertisements for well-known brands in Malta. I also began working with a company that has a media production department, where I gained further valuable behind-the-scenes experience on television productions.”

Faye has continued to grow professionally and is now serving as Director of Teatru Kulleġġ 26,  overseeing the creative vision of the theatre productions, coordinating performers and crew, and guiding students through the process from rehearsal to live performance – a significant leadership role for a young creative practitioner.

Looking ahead, she is setting her sights internationally and plans to pursue an undergraduate degree in Film Studies at BIMM University in Berlin.

Head of  MAV College Victor Galea concluded:
“The College warmly congratulates Faye on her achievements so far and wishes her every success in this exciting new chapter of her artistic journey.”
