All good things must come to an end, and on 28th January 2026, the Multidisciplinary Arts Studies Department within Mikiel Anton Vassalli College (MAVC) marked the conclusion of the MQF Level 1 Award in the Visual and Performing Arts with a celebratory final session and Award Ceremony.
During this closing event, students who successfully completed the 10-week practical study programme were presented with their well-deserved Awards – their first formal qualification. The course offered learners a rich and engaging introduction to the arts through hands-on sessions in team building, visual art, music, drama, and dance, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and self-expression.
A highlight of the programme was a mini-performance devised and delivered by the students themselves. Learners took on different creative roles: some designed the scene, others acted, danced, or performed original music composed during the course. This brief yet impactful production showcased the students’ creativity, enthusiasm, imagination, and the multidisciplinary nature of the programme.
The Award Ceremony also included the sharing and collection of feedback from both students and families. Parents expressed their appreciation for the course’s structure and impact. Ms Camilleri, mother of Estelle and Benjamin, commented:
“This basic exposure to the different art forms benefitted greatly our children and it was concise, exciting, and focused on students’ engagement through hands-on learning activities.”
Similarly, Ms Cardona Scerri, mother of Josue and Noah, shared her positive experience, stating:
“We would love to continue Level 2 in the Visual and Performing Arts – the children really enjoyed learning through play.”
Mikiel Anton Vassalli College remains committed to nurturing creativity from an early age and intends to continue offering Visual and Performing Arts courses at different levels. Parents and guardians interested in learning more about these study opportunities are encouraged to contact MAVC on 2598 3716 or by email at mavassalli.college@ilearn.edu.mt.
This successful conclusion stands as a testament to the power of the arts in fostering confidence, collaboration, and joyful learning among young learners.
