The Malta School of Music, part of the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College, is proud to announce that Dr. Moira Azzopardi Barbieri has been appointed as the National Coordinator (NC) for Malta for the European Association for Music in Schools (EAS). Her appointment, which spans from the 2025 EAS Conference until the 2027 Conference, underscores Malta’s growing presence and contribution within the European music education landscape.
Head of College Network Victor Galea said “Dr. Azzopardi Barbieri brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and passion to this prestigious role. A dedicated music educator and academic, she has played an instrumental role in developing music education in Malta. As part of her new role, she will represent Malta within the EAS network, strengthening collaborations and promoting innovative practices in music education across Europe.”
The Malta School of Music, operating under the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College, continues to serve as a national hub for excellence in music education offering education in both music performance and theory up to Higher Diploma levels. As the National School of Music, during the past 50 years, has cultivated a dynamic environment that supports both young musicians and educators through high-quality accredited programs, national and international projects, and cultural exchanges amongst other interesting events involving both teachers and students alike.
