In addition to overall project management and coordination, the project will include a series of key activities, namely:

From Culture to Rhythm: Heritage in Sound – exploring cultural heritage through music and rhythm

From Waste to Stage: Music & Performance – transforming recycled materials into performance-based musical experiences

Innovative Pedagogies for Sustainability & Music Education – sharing teaching practices that integrate sustainability within music education

Sustainability & Sound: From Waste to Music – hands-on exploration of sound creation using upcycled materials

Upcycling Music e-Festival: From Waste to Harmony – a digital festival showcasing the creative outcomes of the project

Through these activities, Upcycling Music aims to promote environmental responsibility, creativity, cross-cultural collaboration and innovative pedagogy among students and educators across Europe.

Head of College Mr Victor Galea said that “This project further strengthens MAVC’s commitment to international collaboration, sustainable practices and high-quality education in the visual and performing arts, while reinforcing its role as a national institution actively contributing to European educational initiatives”.
