New Head of School for MAVC, Malta School of Music

Dr Jes Grixti is the newly appointed Head of School for the MAVC, Malta School of Music.

A distinguished composer, academic, and pedagogue with an international reputation Dr Grixti frequently collaborates with both local and international performers. His music is regularly featured at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, US. His music is released on the MPS (UK), Divine Art (Europe), and ABC (Australia).


Dr Jes Grixti is the newly appointed Head of School for the MAVC, Malta School of Music

His research in informal/non-formal music education and community music practice has been showcased at numerous international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals, notably the Australian Journal for Music Education. Dr Grixti is also one of the International Society for Music Education (ISME) academic reviewers.


Currently he is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta (Faculty for Education). He has also taught at local and international schools in various educational settings, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.


Dr Grixti is a doctoral graduate of the Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
