UNVEILED: Celebrating Creativity at the MAVC Gozo VPA School

On Friday, 28th March 2025, the Gozo Visual and Performing Arts School proudly hosted the inauguration of its Annual Art Exhibition, titled ‘UNVEILED’, a dynamic celebration of student creativity, expression, and artistic growth.

The event opened with a musical performance of Fusion des Couleurs by Mro. Michael Pirotta, performed by the talented Gozo VPA School Ensemble, setting the tone for an inspiring evening of art and culture.

The exhibition was officially inaugurated by the Minister for Gozo and Planning, Hon. Clint Camilleri, alongside Head of School Mr. Vince Caruana, who also addressed the audience, highlighting the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering the creative arts as an essential part of holistic education. Also present was Deputy Head Mr. Paul Camilleri, supporting the event and celebrating the students’ achievements.

Showcasing over 400 artworks by students from various year groups, UNVEILED featured a wide range of artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, pyrography, installation, and digital art. The exhibition provided a platform for students to express their ideas, explore techniques, and share their work with the wider community.

Speaking about the significance of the event, Mr. Victor Galea, Head of College Network, remarked:

“This exhibition is more than a display of artistic talent, it is a powerful educational experience that nurtures creativity, builds confidence, and promotes cultural appreciation. It is truly inspiring to witness how the arts can enrich our students’ educational journey.”

The event gave students a meaningful opportunity to showcase their work in a professional setting. It helped them understand how the arts play a key role in communication, self-expression, and community involvement. The exhibition also marked an important learning experience, highlighting the value of creative thinking.

The exhibition remained open to the public until the 12th of April 2025 at the Gozo Visual and Performing Arts School, attracting visitors from across the island.
