Introductions continue; meet the Wardrobe Mistress of Blat – The Island Fortress opera-film!

WARDROBE MISTRESS

Glorian S. Micallef Grimaud is in charge of the costumes for the opera-film. As the Wardrobe Mistress, and liaising with the Art Coordinator Umberto Buttigieg, the initial stages consist of a careful study of clothing worn in the time-period being filmed. The role comprises of coordinating the manufacturing of costumes as well as the renting out of hundreds of others. Since the role spans throughout the whole filming, scheduling of costumes, for different shoots, and their maintenance is to be accomplished.

Micallef-Grimaud read for a Bachelor’s Degree in History of Art at the University of Malta and graduated with Honours in 2005. In 2015 she graduated as a Master in Maltese Culture Studies, with Distinction. She recently completed a short course at Leiden University, with Honours. She is the Education Coordinator at the MAVC Malta School of Art, Valletta.
